Academic General Internal Medicine Inpatient

Duties

• Provide excellent patient care
• Be actively involved in the teaching of medical students and residents
• For appointment at the Associate Professor or Professor rank, sustain an outstanding, extramurally supported research program

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent
• Eligible to obtain an unrestricted state medical license
• Completed an accredited internal medicine residency program at the time of appointment
• For appointment at the Associate Professor or Professor rank, a demonstrated track-record of leadership, excellent communication skills, and publications in high-impact journals are required

About the Role

The West Virginia University School of Medicine and the Department of Medicine seek a General Internal Medicine physician qualified for appointment at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor rank. The successful candidate will be expected to practice in Morgantown, WV.

This position will focus primarily on inpatient care with a small academic outpatient component for the Division of General Internal Medicine. At WVU, you will collaborate with a team of over 25 outstanding and experienced internists. All subspecialties are present and available for consultation within the clinic and hospital. Opportunities also exist in clinical research. Physicians with a special interest in global health would have an opportunity to participate in our rapidly expanding global health residency track.
