About the role
A fix stipend will be paid to interns on a monthly basis. 7AM is seeking a highly motivated, resourceful, and pro-active individual with great style and sophisticated design sensibilities. This is an excellent opportunity to gain exposure in all facets of a growing brand, to learn and work in a fun, dynamic, and creative environment.
Responsibilities
- Train and collaborate with the head designer and junior designer to create mood boards, CADs, new tech packs for sampling of new line
- Follow up with factories about sampling process
- Prepare final tech pack for production and follow through to the completion of an approved final product
- Shop print studios and fabric mills to scout for the newest fabrics and prints for the season
- Participate in the development and selection of artwork, prepare flat sketch design for new products, and create design sketches for enhancements to existing products

- Able to design around concepts and to design flat sketches
- Fluent hand illustration skills are a definite plus
- Sketching of sample garments
- Intuitive color sense, keen eye and great attention to detail
- Understanding of garment construction, specs and fit
- Sophisticated taste with focus on creating quality products
- Passion to design compelling and cutting-edge products
- Preparing technical packages for final art, starting & completing final CAD presentations for sales
- Ability to work independently, to follow directions and to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Strong time management skills with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines
- Solid organizational, and presentation skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Hands-on, inquisitive, creative
- Self-motivated and diligent worker who takes pride in their work
- Proactively seeks out opportunities to maximize the business
- Has a strong work ethic; works hard
Requirements
- Must be working towards a degree in fashion design
- Experience in children’s wear is a plus
- Proficient with CAD fashion software, Adobe Creative Suite, Illustrator, Photoshop, Microsoft Office including PowerPoint and Excel on a Mac platform
- Must be efficient with tech packs, fittings, comments and corrections
