About the Role
Seeking Adjunct Instructors to teach Academic Development 101, a first-year experience course designed to familiarize students with CCBC and foster the development of decision-making skills and learning strategies that link students to success in college. This 1-credit hour interactive course helps students become familiar with CCBC technologies, learning strategies, explore tentative occupational choices, and create an educational plan.
Upon completion of this course, students will be able to demonstrate knowledge of CCBC policies and procedures, locate and utilize services, analyze use of individual time, and identify strategies for managing these while pursuing their academic plan.
Responsibilities
- Create a classroom climate characterized by a high degree of teacher-student rapport.
- Work with non-traditional, diverse student populations.
- Engage first-year students in interactive learning experiences.
- Attend trainings and ongoing professional development.
- Complete regular in-service training as required.
- Undergo regular observation and evaluation by the Department Chair.
Requirements
- Associate degree required.
- Ability to relate well to students.
- Enthusiasm for working with first-year students.
- Familiarity with academic advising, ARTSYS, or DegreeWorks is considered a plus.
Pay
$1,110 per credit hour.

- Campus locations: Essex, Dundalk, Catonsville, Owings Mills.
