About the role
The Division of Hospital Medicine in the Department of Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for several Assistant Professor positions in the non-tenure academic clinician track. Expertise is required in the specific area of General Internal Medicine, ideally in Hospital Medicine.
Responsibilities
- Teaching responsibilities may include working in the general medicine teaching services at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and/or Penn Presbyterian Medical Center.
- Candidates will also be expected to mentor medical students and residents.
- Candidates will also have opportunities to teach advanced practice providers and engage in lectures and small groups in the medical school.
- Clinical responsibilities may include work on non-resident, acute care hospital services and also may include specialized populations such as oncology, LTACH service, or consults/surgical co-management.
Requirements
- Applicants must have an M.D. or equivalent degree.
- Board certified or board eligible in internal medicine is required.
- The academic clinician track requires 100 credits per year of active and high-quality teaching.
- Candidates should demonstrate excellence in, teaching with institutional awards, completion of a graduate or professional certificate program or significant institutional, regional or national leadership roles.
Qualifications
- Prior experience as faculty, including completion of a chief residency or time in hospital medicine, is strongly preferred.
