About the Role
The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and the Department of Psychiatry at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania are seeking candidates for an Associate or Full Professor position in the non-tenure academic clinician track. This role focuses on Child & Adolescent Psychiatry, with a strong emphasis on healthcare systems administration, hospital operations, and practice management within a large, academic medical center or similarly complex environment. Leadership experience and active involvement in national organizations and relevant committees are highly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality teaching, including didactic lectures to interns, fellows, residents, and medical students from the Perelman School of Medicine, University of Pennsylvania.
- Deliver inpatient, consult-liaison (CL), emergency room (ER), and/or outpatient services within the Integrated Division.
- Direct clinical activities in the section while promoting research and educational initiatives.
- Lead recruitment of faculty and collaborate with quality improvement teams.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with medical and administrative staff, patients, and the public, particularly in the care of children with medically and psychiatrically complex needs.
Requirements
- M.D. or equivalent degree.
- Board certified or board eligible in General Psychiatry and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
- Eligible for Pennsylvania medical license.
- Experience in healthcare systems administration, hospital operations, and practice management in a large, academic medical center or complex environment.
- Leadership experience, with a preference for active involvement in national organizations and committees.
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching and clinical care, including supervision.
Qualifications
The academic clinician track requires 100 credits per year of active and high-quality teaching. Rank will be commensurate with experience.
