Responsibilities
- Facilitate academic plan development, career advising, registration assistance, and academic strategy cultivation for an assigned caseload of newly admitted students, first-semester students, and continuing students to promote student success, persistence, retention, progression, and completion.
- Maintain thirty (30) hours of advising availability per week.
- Participate in ongoing training provided by the Center and assigned academic department(s).
- Facilitate early interventions and regularly use available technologies to ensure accurate and effective advising.
- Located on the Midlands Technical College Airport and Beltline Campus.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Experience in student service programs.
Qualifications
Preferred qualifications include:
- Bachelor’s degree plus three (3) years of experience in student services programs or academic advising, or an earned Master’s degree.
- Direct academic advising experience in a community or technical college setting, including managing a caseload, leading interventions, leveraging technology to document academic advisement and student support.
- Global Career Development Facilitator (GCDF) certification.
