About the role

The Department of Construction and Concrete Industry Management (CCIM) invites applications for and Academic Advisor and Student Recruitment Coordinator for the Concrete Industry Management Program. This position plays an intricate role in not only student recruitment, but also retention, advising and industry coordination to ensure the program provides academic guidance and career support that aligns with workforce needs.

Responsibilities

  • Cover and manage student recruitment activities focused on enrollment of undergraduate students in the CIM program, including campus tours, open houses, and outreach events.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with prospective students, high schools, community colleges, and other partner institutions.
  • Track and analyze recruitment data to assess effectiveness and improve enrollment strategies.
  • Maintain recruitment databases and ensure accurate and up-to-date records of prospective student interactions.
  • Collaborate with the admissions office, faculty, and staff to promote the CIM program and ensure accurate communication of program offerings.
  • Manage communication campaigns (email, social media, and print materials) to engage prospective students.
  • Represent the CIM program and department at various college fairs, information sessions, community events, and school visits within the 11-states region.
  • Aid in application processing and provide guidance to applicants throughout the admissions process.
  • Lead new student orientation sessions, campus visits, and department welcome events.
  • Serve as an undergraduate academic advisor, mentor, and support student competitions.
  • Provide input to the Program Director in aligning the curriculum with current industry needs.
  • Participate in departmental, college, and university committees, supporting SDSU’s mission and the CIM program’s strategic goals.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in any STEM or Business field by start date.
  • Minimum of one year of experience working with high school or college students.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Valid driver’s license or ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire, with a willingness to travel.

Salary and Duration

The salary for this position is commensurate with qualifications, starting at $51,063.

This is a 12-month, full-time, benefits-eligible position.
