About the role

Provide a fun, safe, stimulating, and educational environment for children. Reports to Adventure Club Site Supervisor. Located in Bentonville School District Elementary or Middle Schools.

Requirements

• 18 years of age or older
• High school diploma or GED

Qualifications

• Enjoyment of working with youth
• Good mental and physical health
• Respect for diverse cultural backgrounds
• Willingness to complete required training
• Willingness to undergo background checks as required by law

Responsibilities

• Interactions with Youth:
  • Plan and implement pleasant arrivals and departures.
  • Use routines as a time to build relationships and learning opportunities.
  • Show respect for youth and encourage respectful interactions.
  • Use Conscious Discipline language to build relationships and strengthen youth’s social and emotional competencies.
  • Use indirect and direct guidance techniques.
  • Support youth as they learn to resolve their own conflicts.
  • Strive to meet each youth’s individual needs.
  • Involve youth in the planning of activities and program space.
• Activities and Environment:
  • Maintain a clean, organized, inviting environment that is safe and developmentally appropriate.
  • Plan and implement a variety of engaging learning experiences through weekly lesson plans, incorporating STEM projects.
