Abdominal Imaging and Intervention Radiologist

About the Role

The Department of Radiology offers a unique opportunity for an Abdominal Imaging and Intervention Radiologist to support the Abdominal Imaging section. This position requires onsite work at a designated campus location and has been identified as a position of trust with access to vulnerable populations. The selected candidate will be required to pass an initial caregiver check under the Wisconsin Caregiver Law and every four years thereafter.

Applicants will be considered for the titles Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Full Professor on either the Clinician Teacher (CT) Track or Clinical Health Sciences (CHS) Track, based on experience and qualifications.

Responsibilities

• CHS Track:
  • Clinical duties in the Abdominal Imaging and Intervention section, including:
    • Ultrasound and intra-operative ultrasound
    • Ultrasound-guided procedures
    • Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)
    • Computed Tomography (CT) and CT-guided procedures
    • Virtual colonoscopy (VC)
    • Gastrointestinal/genitourinary (GI/GU) imaging
  • Teaching and clinical research responsibilities.
  • Departmental teaching assignments for medical students, residents, fellows, and other trainees.
  • Participation in administrative and committee work to support clinical and scholarly missions.
• CT Track:
  • Clinical duties complementing the Abdominal Imaging and Intervention section.
  • Close interaction with ordering providers during clinical work.
  • Collaboration and teamwork within the team practice.

The UW Department of Radiology consists of over 165 faculty across 13 sections, reading more than 1,000,000 diagnostic scans annually. The department trains over 50 residents and fellows per year and maintains a strong presence in the medical student curriculum. Key departmental missions include:

Requirements

• WI medical license by the start date of the position.
• Board-certified or board-eligible by the American Board of Radiology (ABR) by the start date of the position.
• Completion of fellowship training in Abdominal Imaging or equivalent experience by the start date of the position.
• MD, DO, or equivalent required by the start date of the position.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience teaching medical students, residents, and fellows.
• Willingness to collaborate closely with ordering providers (CT Track).
• Commitment to teamwork and collegial relationships with faculty.
