ABA Billing Specialist

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented Billing Specialist to join our ABA therapy practice in West Palm Beach, FL (on-site). You will be responsible for the full lifecycle of claims—from initial submission to final payment, ensuring our therapists can focus on clinical care while you handle the complexities of Florida insurance and Medicaid reimbursements.

Reports to: Billing Manager / Clinic Director
Salary Range: $22.00 – $27.00 per hour (DOE)

Responsibilities

• Accurately submit electronic and paper claims for ABA services (97151, 97153, 97155, etc.).
• Track and maintain active authorizations to prevent "rendered without auth" denials.
• Research, appeal, and resolve denied or underpaid claims in a timely manner.
• Accurately post ERAs and patient payments into the practice management system.
• Maintain professional relationships with major Florida payers (BCBS, Aetna, UnitedHealthcare, and Florida Medicaid).

Requirements

• Minimum 1–2 years of experience specifically in ABA Therapy billing (preferred) or general medical billing.
• Proficiency in ABA platforms like CentralReach, Portia, or Catalyst.
• Experience navigating Florida Medicaid portals and Florida-specific insurance nuances.

Skills

• Strong understanding of EOBs, COB (Coordination of Benefits), and the appeals process.
