About the role
Airbus Americas, Inc. is seeking a A320 Flightline Quality Avionic Inspector (Rotating Shifts) to join our team based in Mobile, AL.
Responsibilities
- L3 Flightline Quality Avionic Inspector:
- Release the aircraft for all ground and flight operations (Engine Run-up Inspections, Pre and Post flight checks under EASA Part 21G and after the transfer of title under FAA 14 CFR Part 145).
- Conduct comprehensive aircraft testing, evaluate results, and document tests and discrepancies within the Airbus Log Book (ALB).
- Execute quality inspections of standard and non-standard aircraft production and maintenance activities, including all associated documentation.
- Provide technical support and execute troubleshooting (T/S) for aircraft avionic systems.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and serve as the liaison for resolving technical issues with Engineering, customers, and suppliers.
- Ensure and certify aircraft conformity, possessing final signature authorization as a Quality Inspector.
- FAL-GTE (Final Assembly Line - Ground Test Engineer):
- Under delegation from the Flight Test Department (IVR), conduct aircraft ground checks subsequent to the FOT milestone.
- Prepare the aircraft and test environment for system-wide ground tests.
- Document non-conformities in the Airbus Log Book (ALB) and initiate a Repeat Test Instruction (RTI) following completion of rework.
- Execute all required ground checks (static system tests, APU run, low and high power engine run, low speed taxi, and compass swing) strictly in accordance with the Production Aircraft Test Manual (PATM).
- FAA Part 145 Repair Station Inspector:
- Conduct aircraft testing, evaluate, and document test results and discrepancies within the Part 145 Work Package.
- Assist with and execute troubleshooting (T/S) on aircraft avionic systems.
- Manage the Part 145 Work Package and issue the official Release to Service (RTS).
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 3 years of Quality Inspection experience preferably on A320 Family aircraft in an aviation company
- Experience in troubleshooting Avionic/Airframe/Powerplant Systems
- FAA issued A & P or EASA Part 66 license (for FAA 14 CFR Part 145 activities after Transfer of Title)
- Knowledge of drawing systems, inspection plans and inspection processes
- Knowledge of inspection principles, practices, methods and tools used on the production line
- Extensive knowledge on A320 Family Avionic Systems
- Clear and precise English communication skills, able to give direction
- Technical Systems Proficiency: Proven experience in the performance of GTI’s (Ground Test Instruction)
- Avionic / Airframe/Powerplant System - Basic A/C
- Preferred: Airbus A320 T1 & T2 training preferred
- Flightline experience preferred
- Leadership experience
