A220 Flightline Quality Inspector- 2nd Shift

Airbus US Manufacturing Facility is looking for an A220 Flightline Quality Inspector to join the team based in Mobile, AL on 2nd shift.

About the role

As a CAT2 member of the Flightline Quality team, you are responsible for the execution and verification of Quality activities in the Flightline phase, starting from the handover from the FAL, through the flight test phase, until the final delivery to the customer. This includes demonstrating aircraft system integrity and conformity in accordance with the design specification by verifying functional test procedures and declaring the aircraft ready for the production flight testing phase.

Your working environment is the Airbus U.S. Manufacturing Facility for commercial aircraft, located at the Mobile Aeroplex at Brookley. Opened in 2015, the facility produces A320 Family aircraft and added a second product line for the A220 in 2019.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate test results by documenting the tests performed and the test outcomes.
• Perform special inspections imposed by Restrictions and/or Special Requirements.
• Serve as the flight test team Quality representative in technical review meetings with Liaison, FAL/Flightline, Design Office, Programs, and Quality teams.
• Perform ground checks, static system tests, APU run, low and high power engine run, low speed test, and compass swing in accordance with the FTP and in coordination with the flight test department.
• Support improvement measures and clarify problems with engineering, customers, and suppliers.
• Responsible for closure of Transport Canada Snags.
• Perform and sign the application for the FAA Certificate of Airworthiness (C of A).
• Perform and approve service bulletins.
• Perform MRB approval in the non-conformance management system.
• Revise and approve flight permits.
• Ensure aircraft conforms to its approved design data.
• Support customer deliveries for any aspect of aircraft conformity and release for flight.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Flightline quality inspector in the field of aeronautics.
• Leadership experience preferred.
• Airline experience preferred.
• Valid FAA A&P or TCCA Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) M2 license required.
• FAA Inspection Authorization (IA) preferred.
• Valid A220 type rating preferred.
• Eligible for employment in the US without sponsorship.

• Equipment Operation: Able to operate a wide range of personal and office electronic equipment.
• Working at Heights: Able to work on fuselage jigs at a height of 15 feet and on hydraulic lifts up to 40 feet.
• Schedule: Capable of supporting a 2-shift system and occasional weekends based on business needs.
• Carrying: Able to occasionally carry up to 55 lbs/25 kg.
• Lifting: Able to occasionally lift up to 55 lbs/25 kg.
• Pushing/Pulling: Able to push/pull items in office areas.
• Sitting: Able to sit for extended periods at a computer, in meetings, or on aircraft.
• Squatting/Kneeling: Able to work in confined spaces, such as the wing or center box, entering through a 9.8 inch x 17.7 inch oval opening; able to squat or kneel occasionally.
• Standing: Able to stand for extended periods while delivering information.
• Travel: Able to travel overseas and domestically.
• Walking: Able to walk through office and production areas, around the flight line and airstrips, and on uneven indoor and/or outdoor surfaces.
