Metro Aviation, Inc. is seeking an A&P Hangar Based Helicopter Aviation Maintenance Technician (EC135) in Fort Meade, Maryland for the MedStar program. Responsibilities

• Maintain a close liaison with the A&P Lead Aviation Maintenance Technician (AMT) to provide up-to-date and current status of aircraft and forecast downtime.
• Perform aircraft maintenance including inspection, modification, maintenance, and repair of aircraft, airframe, rotors, propellers, engines, and appliances in accordance with approved procedures and regulations.
• Communicate, plan, and coordinate with the Lead AMT the schedule of maintenance for base aircraft, considering workflow, equipment, facilities, tools, parts, supplies, and job requirements.
• Maintain the field base to company standards and ensure all maintenance activities are recorded in the aircraft logbook or company work order.
• Prepare and submit material requests and inventory usage reports, receive and ship inventory, and maintain company-owned local Ground Support Equipment (GSE).
• Ensure all necessary aircraft documents and company documents are completed and maintained in accordance with applicable regulations and policies.
• Perform inspections on incoming parts and materials, manage parts with shelf life limits, and request Secondary Maintenance Checks following maintenance activities.
• Maintain calibrated tool tracking logs and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant Certificate.
• Minimum of three (3) years turbine rotorcraft or airplane experience.
• Inspection Authorization and/or FAR 135 experience a plus.

Skills

• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Sound judgment and objectivity in decision-making.
• Proficiency in aircraft maintenance, inspection, and repair.
• Thorough knowledge of FARS, General Operations Manual, and aircraft mechanical systems.

Physical Demands

• Walking, standing, pushing, pulling, reaching, bending, kneeling, and squatting for extended periods.
• Climbing heights on various equipment.
• Lifting up to 50 or more pounds.
• Sufficient vision and ability to safely perform essential functions.
• Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when required.

Work Environment

• Indoor/Outdoor shop with potential extreme cold and hot temperatures.
• Exposure to hazardous chemicals possible.
• Moderate to loud noise level.
• Driving company vehicle or personal vehicle for company use.

Schedule

• Full-time.
• Schedules vary by assigned program.
• On-call and overtime necessary depending on workload.
