About the role

A Live-In Care Worker provides care, support, and companionship to individuals with a wide range of support needs who prefer to receive care in their own homes. The role primarily involves working with older adults who require assistance with daily tasks to maintain their safety and health.

A typical day includes:

• Assisting with morning routines such as getting up, washing, and dressing, which may involve using equipment like hoists or simply providing hands-on support.
• Preparing and sharing breakfast while planning the day’s activities, which could include health appointments, social outings, household tasks, or errands like shopping.
• Ensuring medication is taken, meals are prepared, and the individual’s health is continually monitored throughout the day.
• Providing companionship, assisting with evening routines such as meals and personal care, and helping the individual wind down for the night with activities like reading or watching TV.

What we’re looking for

We seek someone who values the opportunity to build deep, meaningful relationships with those they care for. The role involves working in a 3-weeks-on, 1-week-off schedule with one individual, allowing for continuity and a strong bond to develop.
