#956- Middle School Food Service: Mon-Fri. 5:30am-2:00pm; (8hrs. /day) when school is in session

Must pass the District's Cooks’ Test.

Responsibilities

• Use good initiative and judgment
• Help in staging of food and supplies to be transported to other district kitchens
• Prepare and cook entree, vegetable, salad and other food items
• Set up cafeteria and serving lines, serve food, apportioning by menu count/restocks
• Operate a variety of food service equipment, including oven, range, and dish machine
• Perform cleaning duties: dish washing, scrub cafeteria tables, clean serving areas, moving tables
• Properly stock, handle and store foods
• Apply proper sanitation principles and procedures
• Assist with food supply inventory
• Operate a computer during breakfast and lunch service
• Fill out daily paperwork and follow Federal Regulations
• Handle cash and balance cash register after breakfast and lunch meal service
• Transport cash to school bank
• Valid driver’s license to operate delivery van when needed
• Any other duties assigned by your Supervisor

Requirements

• Necessary interpersonal skills to deal courteously, cooperatively and effectively with students, teachers, co-workers, administrators, and the public
• Ability to decipher recipes and knowledge of basic mathematics
• Comfortable with operating a computer
• High School Diploma preferred
• Experience in large quantity cooking preferred
• General knowledge of sanitation involving food and food equipment recommended

Schedule

Monday–Friday, 5:30 AM–2:00 PM (8 hours/day) when school is in session.
