92S Shower/Laundry and Clothing Repair Specialist
About the Role
As a Shower/Laundry and Clothing Repair Specialist in the Army National Guard, you will ensure Soldiers have clean uniforms and functional shower facilities, whether at home base or in the field. This role involves setting up mobile shower and laundry units, repairing fabric, and maintaining uniforms.
Responsibilities
- Receive bulk, individual, or organizational laundry
- Operate mobile laundry systems, shower units, light-duty sewing machines, and associated equipment
- Alter sizes, repair uniforms, and replace zippers
- Operate and maintain sewing, darning, and button machines
Civilian Career Opportunities
Training in this role prepares you for civilian careers such as:
- Supervising or managing a commercial laundry for a hotel or resort

Training
Job training consists of 10 weeks of Basic Training (learning Soldiering skills) and 8 weeks of Advanced Individual Training, split between classroom instruction and fieldwork. You will earn a regular paycheck and qualify for tuition assistance during training.

Most non-prior service candidates will earn between $200 and $250 per drill weekend, subject to change.
Requirements
- Military enlistment in the Army National Guard
- Must be at least a junior in high school, or have a high school diploma or GED certificate
- Must be between the ages of 17 and 35
- Must pass a physical exam and meet legal and moral standards
- Must meet citizenship requirements (see NATIONALGUARD.com for details)
