92S Shower/Laundry and Clothing Repair Specialist
About the role
As a Shower/Laundry and Clothing Repair Specialist in the Army National Guard, you will ensure Soldiers have clean uniforms and operational shower facilities. This role involves setting up mobile laundry and shower units, performing laundry duties, and repairing clothing and uniforms.
Responsibilities
- Receive bulk, individual, or organizational laundry
- Operate mobile laundry systems, shower units, light-duty sewing machines, and associated equipment
- Alter sizes, repair uniforms, and replace zippers
- Operate and maintain sewing, darning, and button machines
Civilian career opportunities
Training in this role prepares you for civilian careers such as supervising or managing a commercial laundry for hotels or resorts, working as an equipment manager for a sports team, or becoming a tailor.
Training
Job training consists of 10 weeks of Basic Training (covering Soldiering skills) and 8 weeks of Advanced Individual Training, split between classroom instruction and fieldwork. You will earn a regular paycheck and qualify for tuition assistance during training.

Requirements
- Military enlistment in the Army National Guard
- Must be at least a junior in high school, or have a high school diploma or GED certificate
- Must be between the ages of 17 and 35
- Must pass a physical exam and meet legal and moral standards
