About the role
Fuel is crucial to the Army National Guard. As a Petroleum Supply Specialist, you'll ensure that Soldiers have the necessary petroleum-based products to keep them operational.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the proper handling, storage, and shipment of petroleum-based products, including oil, fuel, and compressed gas.
- Supervise and manage the reception, storage, and shipping of bulk or packaged petroleum products.
- Operate specialized pumping equipment to load trucks, ships, trains, and aircraft.
- Select and submit samples of petroleum-based products for testing.
- Perform petroleum and water accounting activities.
- Test petroleum samples for contamination.
- Repair specialized equipment.
- Be knowledgeable about facility safety procedures and storage guidelines.
- Take on management duties, such as supervising and training other Soldiers, assigning duties, spot checking work quality, and ensuring adherence to safety procedures.
Requirements
- Military enlistment in the Army National Guard.
- Must be at least a junior in high school, or have a high school diploma or a GED certificate.
- Must be between the ages of 17 and 35.
- Must be able to pass a physical exam and meet legal and moral standards.
