About the role

Fuel is crucial to the Army National Guard. As a Petroleum Supply Specialist, you'll ensure that Soldiers have the necessary petroleum-based products, such as oil, fuel, and compressed gas.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the proper handling, storage, and shipment of petroleum-based products
  • Supervise and manage the reception, storage, and shipping of bulk or packaged petroleum products
  • Operate specialized pumping equipment to load trucks, ships, trains, and aircraft
  • Select and submit samples of petroleum-based products for testing
  • Perform petroleum and water accounting activities
  • Test petroleum samples for contamination
  • Repair specialized equipment
  • Be knowledgeable about facility safety procedures and storage guidelines
  • Take on management duties, such as supervising and training other Soldiers, assigning duties, spot checking work quality, and ensuring adherence to safety procedures

Requirements

  • Military enlistment in the Army National Guard
  • Must be at least a junior in high school, or have a high school diploma or a GED certificate
  • Must be between the ages of 17 and 35
  • Must be able to pass a physical exam and meet legal and moral standards

Pay

Actual pay range is between $200 and $250 per drill weekend, subject to change.

Schedule

Training typically takes 10 weeks, followed by 11 weeks of AIT.
