8th Grade Volleyball Coach

Bishop O'Gorman Catholic Schools is looking for an 8th Grade Volleyball Coach to work in a great environment that fosters professional and spiritual growth. About the Role

This position supports the mission of Bishop O'Gorman Catholic Schools and operates within the policies of the Metro Conferences and the SDHSAA.

Responsibilities

• Promote the mission of Bishop O'Gorman Catholic Schools
• Assist in the direction and coordination of interscholastic athletics
• Supervise dressing rooms and playing areas during and following team participation
• Remain with students and supervise when traveling to away games
• Maintain a staff relationship with other coaches
• Perform various duties as assigned

Requirements

• BA/BS in Education (preferred)
• Fundamentals of Coaching certification (high school only)
• Sports First Aid certification (high school only)
• Concussion in Sports certification (high school only)
• Heat Illness Prevention certification (fall high school only)
• Coaching and teaching experience desired
• High School/College participation (preferred)
• Hand-eye/mind-eye coordination, physical dexterity, and the ability to bend, stoop, walk, talk, and sit
• Ability to travel between locations
• Willingness and ability to effectively communicate the Catholic Church’s teachings through ministry activities
• Willingness and ability to act as a personal witness to the Catholic faith by living in accordance with the doctrines and moral teachings of the Roman Catholic Church
