About the role
A State Certified English Language Arts Teacher for 8th grade is sought.
Responsibilities
- Teach English Language Arts to 8th grade students
- Implement Louisiana Student Standards and the LEAP Assessment
- Utilize Lucy Calkins' Writing Workshop Model
- Lead extracurricular student activities (optional)
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in related field (Elementary Education, Middle School Education, Special Education, Curriculum and Instruction, Educational Leadership)
- Reading Specialist and/or ESL certification (desirable)
- 2+ years experience with children in a school setting (preferred)
Qualifications
- Familiarity with Guidebooks 2.0
- Interest in leading extracurricular student activities (optional)
Skills
- Ability to train and workshop in the summer (optional)
