8202 Security Guard (TEX)

About the Role

The Asian Art Museum is seeking as-needed Security Guards to join our team. This is a Temporary Exempt (TEX) position, which is at-will and exempt from civil service rules. Shifts vary, including evenings, and are based on operational need with no guarantee of hours. This position is typically assigned to a standing and walking post at the museum's San Francisco location.

Responsibilities

• Providing excellent customer service
• Enforcing rules and regulations governing access to and use of public facilities
• Preparing routine reports of time and work done
• Patrolling and safeguarding facilities
• Observing the surrounding environment, recognizing potentially dangerous situations, and reacting appropriately
• Performing basic incidental duties as needed

Minimum Qualifications

• One year of verifiable experience as a security officer
• Possession of a current California Security Guard Registration Card issued by the California State Bureau of Security and Investigative Services
• Possession of a High School Diploma or G.E.D. Certificate
• Possession of a valid state motor vehicle operator's license

Desired Qualifications

• Experience working in a museum or at a cultural institution
• Experience working near fragile and/or valuable materials

Pay

USD 37.488 per hour.

Schedule

As-needed shifts with varying days and evening hours. Hours are based on operational need and there is no guarantee of work assignment or hours.
