About the role
We are seeking a Senior Java Developer with extensive experience in developing Marklogic-based applications and providing Agile DevOps support to mission-critical systems. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining systems, software, and cloud environments, and providing operations and maintenance for critical systems.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop solutions that integrate Marklogic with existing enterprise platforms and systems
- Develop XQuery, JavaScript, and REST modules on the Marklogic technology stack
- Develop Entity models
- Participate in software programming initiatives to support innovation and enhancement, using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Java, Angular, Python, SpringBoot, and Hibernate
- Develop and direct software system validation and testing methods using Junit and Katalon
- Develop and integrate custom developed software solutions to leverage automated deployment technologies
- Develop, prototype, and deploy solutions within Commercial Cloud Solutions leveraging Infrastructure platform services
- Cook up closely with team members, Product Owners, and Scrum Masters to ensure User Story alignment and implementation to customer use cases
- Analyze (through proof of concept, performance, and end-to-end testing) and effectively coordinate Infrastructure needs driven by developed software to meet customer mission needs
- Support the Agile software development lifecycle following Program SAFe practices
- Use industry leading DevOps tools like GitHub, Jenkins, Unix bash scripting
- Document and perform systems software development, including deployment of build artifacts across different environments leveraging GitFlow constructs
- Communicate key project data to team members and build team cohesion and effectiveness
- Leverage Atlassian tool suite like JIRA and Confluence to track activities
- Apply and identify best practices and standard operating procedures
- Create innovative solutions to meet the technical needs of customers
Requirements
- Mandatory Requirements:
- Developmental (0-2 years’ experience)
- Full Performance (3-5 years’ experience)
- Senior (6-10 years’ experience)
- Expert (11-15 years’ experience)
- SME (16+ years’ experience)
- Basic Qualifications:
- 7+ years of hands-on application development utilizing the Marklogic framework
- Strong analytical and design skills, including the ability to understand business requirements and translate them into efficient and effective technical designs that work well within large-scale, well-structured enterprise environments
- Significant experience in the development of service-oriented architecture application
- Good understanding of Object-Oriented Design and Design Patterns
- Significant experience with implementing the Marklogic java-client-api within an enterprise application
- Strong knowledge of XQuery, FLWOR queries, JavaScript, Marklogic, SPARQL, RDF data, XML Data, triple-stores, XML Processing
- Experience with developer Marklogic Entity Model
- Experience with building Marklogic data hub
- Experience with Unix/Shell scripting
- Significant experience Java and data processing, manipulation or querying (SQL or NoSQL)
- Significant experience with common Agile practices, service-orientated environments, and development practices
- Significant experience in the software development lifecycle, with experience delivering within DevOps toolsets/practices
- Direct experience utilizing software testing performance tools, such as Junit
- Experience with scripting languages, such as Python, Bash
- Experience working in an Agile development environment and tempo
- Experience with development in Commercial Cloud Platforms (ex, AWS, Google Cloud, Azure)
- Experience with development leveraging cloud data services (ex: S3, RDS, EFS)
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Optional Requirements:
- Experience developing in or deploying to AWS
Qualifications
- Candidate must have a Bachelor’s with 8-12 years of relevant experience or a Master’s with 6-10 years of relevant experience.
