Description

Position requires a Top Secret (TS/SCI) clearance with a polygraph.

Salary: Up to $245,000 per year. Core hours: 9 am – 4 pm. Location: Herndon, VA.

Preferred Skills

• Design, implement, and manage firewall solutions using Cisco, Palo Alto, and Juniper devices
• Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot firewall policies and rules
• Monitor network traffic for security threats and address vulnerabilities proactively
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to align network security standards with business objectives
• Stay current with industry trends and best practices in network security and firewall technologies
• Translate customer requirements into enterprise network solutions
• Proven experience as a Network Engineer focused on firewall technologies
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment
• Strong proficiency with Palo Alto and Cisco firewall platforms (Palo Alto is a plus)
• In‑depth knowledge of network protocols, TCP/IP stack, and OSI model
• Experience with firewall management software such as Cisco FTD and Palo Alto Panorama
• Broad understanding of networking principles, system engineering, and network design concepts
• Cloud service provider and hybrid cloud experience (AWS, Azure, Oracle, Google)
• Industry certifications preferred: CCNA Security, CCNP Security, Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE), or similar
