7th/8th Grade Science Teacher Middle School

Requirements

• Successful completion of student teaching is the minimum experience level.
• Proper Pennsylvania certification in the subject/special field area.
• B.S. or B.A. degree is the minimum education requirement.
• The individual's credentials are in compliance with all federal and state laws and regulations governing individuals functioning in this capacity.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver instruction.
• Encourage all students to learn well.
• Maintain and report information on pupil progress.
• Teach the subjects required in the curriculum and planned course documents as assigned by the high school principal in accordance with the district's proposed schedule.
• Prepare and submit written lesson plans as a basis for the day's activities.
• Perform such general building duties as prescribed by the high school principal and his/her assistants.
• Provide supervision in the halls during the passing of classes.
• Follow the procedure prescribed in the handbook regarding fire drills, report cards, eligibility reports, failures, etc.
• Attend all faculty and department meetings.
• Participate in all in-service and training activities.
• Comply with requests and recommendations of the department chairpersons.
• Plan and initiate parent-teacher conferences when desirable.
• Contribute to the development of the annual instructional budget.
• Perform such additional responsibilities as may be determined by the Board of School Directors and the district administration.
