About the role

This position offers an opportunity to work with a variety of truck models including Mack, IHC, Autocar, Heil, and McNeilus. The role involves diagnosing and repairing various components of these vehicles, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical systems.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair engine, transmission, brake, suspension, electrical, hydraulic, body components and systems related to heavy duty and light duty trucks.
  • Support coworkers in maintaining safety and efficiency during the repair process.
  • Complete all required paperwork in a timely and concise manner.
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards.
  • Utilize vehicle computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes and initiate or assign repairs.
  • Conduct safety checks on vehicles and equipment.
  • Conduct repairs utilizing Factory Service Manuals.
  • Maintain high standards of ethics and dependability.

Requirements

  • Ability to provide drive train inspections, diagnosis, and repair.
  • Ability to provide general engine inspection, diagnosis, and repair.
  • Ability to provide transmission inspection, diagnosis, and repair.
  • Ability to perform outside repair inspections and review.
  • Ability to assess structural damage and assign needed repairs.
  • Ability to provide assistance, guidance, and direction to all shop technicians.
  • CDL Class B preferred or the ability to obtain a CDL license.
  • Preferably with waste/recycling industry experience.
  • Clear understanding of OSHA safety requirements for vehicle fleets.
  • Ability to utilize computers for data tracking, communication etc. (dossier, Microsoft office).

Qualifications

  • Advanced knowledge and ability to diagnose and repair engine, transmission, brake, suspension, electrical, hydraulic, body components and systems related to heavy duty and light duty trucks.
  • Ability to provide drive train inspections, diagnosis, and repair.
  • Ability to provide general engine inspection, diagnosis, and repair.
  • Ability to provide transmission inspection, diagnosis, and repair.
  • Ability to perform outside repair inspections and review.
  • Ability to assess structural damage and assign needed repairs.
  • Ability to provide assistance, guidance, and direction to all shop technicians.
  • 3-5 years of hands-on technical experience in the maintenance and repair of medium duty class 8 vehicles and equipment.
  • Preferably with waste/recycling industry experience.
  • Clear understanding of OSHA safety requirements for vehicle fleets.
  • Ability to utilize computers for data tracking, communication etc. (dossier, Microsoft office).

Skills
