About the role
This position offers an opportunity to work with a variety of truck models including Mack, IHC, Autocar, Heil, and McNeilus. The role involves diagnosing and repairing various components of these vehicles, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical systems.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair engine, transmission, brake, suspension, electrical, hydraulic, body components and systems related to heavy duty and light duty trucks.
- Support coworkers in maintaining safety and efficiency during the repair process.
- Complete all required paperwork in a timely and concise manner.
- Follow all safety policies and procedures.
- Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards.
- Utilize vehicle computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes and initiate or assign repairs.
- Conduct safety checks on vehicles and equipment.
- Conduct repairs utilizing Factory Service Manuals.
- Maintain high standards of ethics and dependability.
Requirements
- Ability to provide drive train inspections, diagnosis, and repair.
- Ability to provide general engine inspection, diagnosis, and repair.
- Ability to provide transmission inspection, diagnosis, and repair.
- Ability to perform outside repair inspections and review.
- Ability to assess structural damage and assign needed repairs.
- Ability to provide assistance, guidance, and direction to all shop technicians.
- CDL Class B preferred or the ability to obtain a CDL license.
- Preferably with waste/recycling industry experience.
- Clear understanding of OSHA safety requirements for vehicle fleets.
- Ability to utilize computers for data tracking, communication etc. (dossier, Microsoft office).
Qualifications
- Advanced knowledge and ability to diagnose and repair engine, transmission, brake, suspension, electrical, hydraulic, body components and systems related to heavy duty and light duty trucks.
- Ability to provide drive train inspections, diagnosis, and repair.
- Ability to provide general engine inspection, diagnosis, and repair.
- Ability to provide transmission inspection, diagnosis, and repair.
- Ability to perform outside repair inspections and review.
- Ability to assess structural damage and assign needed repairs.
- Ability to provide assistance, guidance, and direction to all shop technicians.
- 3-5 years of hands-on technical experience in the maintenance and repair of medium duty class 8 vehicles and equipment.
- Preferably with waste/recycling industry experience.
- Clear understanding of OSHA safety requirements for vehicle fleets.
- Ability to utilize computers for data tracking, communication etc. (dossier, Microsoft office).
