The Democratic Party of Wisconsin is nationally recognized as one of the country’s highest-performing and most pivotal political organizations. During the upcoming election cycle, WisDems will drive massive programs to hold Republicans accountable, elect progressive candidates up and down the ballot, and work to build volunteer-led coalitions for the long term. WisDems' work is grounded in inclusion, respect, and empowerment across race, gender, other dimensions of identity, and the rural/suburban/urban divide. Our work continues year-round, collaborating with partners to build a movement that delivers meaningful change for all Wisconsinites.
Location: 2nd/5th or 6th Congressional Districts, Wisconsin
The Opportunity
As a 72 County Coordinator, you will work directly with our Local Party Units in your assigned congressional district to help ensure they have the resources they need, uplift them, and help them grow! With support from the 72 County Director, you will be responsible for implementing the new program on the ground, while working closely with Local Party Unit leadership to ensure their unique needs are met. You will be a part of a highly collaborative, innovative, and friendly team that works closely with the various departments as we work towards electing Democrats up and down the ballot and building critical infrastructure for long-term success.
What You’ll Do at WisDems
- Coordination with Local Party Units
- Provide regular communication and support, understanding their needs, challenges, and goals.
- Ensure governing documents are updated and maintained, troubleshooting issues with the WisDems Party Affairs team.
- Administer training and develop resources, collaborating with other WisDems teams to train on different topics.
- Invest in their growth and development, focusing on the aspects they want to prioritize (e.g. membership, community outreach and engagement).
- Facilitate coordination and collaboration between Party Units in your region.
- Serve as the liaison between Party Units and WisDems.
- Aid in administering the WisDems Membership program throughout your assigned region.
- Aid with signage and campaign material distribution throughout your assigned region.
- Collaborate with fellow 72 County Coordinators on cross-district projects and shared initiatives.
- Execute and manage special projects assigned to the Political Department. Examples include:
- State Convention Assignments
- Surrogate Events
- Story Teller Recruitment
- Assist Party Units with on-the-ground candidate recruitment.
- On year requirements include working outside of normal work hours; including canvassing and other election-preparation as necessary.
Qualifications (Required)
- Experience working in/with a political party, an election campaign, or community/grassroots organizing.
- Organizational Skills - Demonstrated ability to handle incoming information from several mediums while remaining incredibly organized.
- Manages a high volume of work with efficiency - Has, or can create, a system for keeping tasks from slipping through the cracks. Able to juggle competing demands and prioritize without sacrificing quality. Plans backwards to make deadlines. Asks for help when needed.
- Confidentiality Management - Experience or ability to navigate multiple sources of confidential information with discretion.
Qualifications (Preferred)
- Political Aptitude - Understands how to navigate the political landscape, build strong connections, and maintain a constructive partnership with Party Unit leaders to achieve shared success.
- Experience with developing and hosting training for volunteers.
- Skills with NGP, Votebuilder, Reach, ActBlue, Mailchimp, Action Network, Canva, and Google Workspace.

The pay range for this role is:
- 55,000 - 55,000 USD per year (In Person - Field )
