7 South - Pediatric General Surgical/Renal/GI - Registered Nurse 1 or 2, Inpt (Evergreen)

About the Role

The Level II Registered Nurse, under the direction of the Nurse Manager, is accountable for provision of competent direct patient care based on established standards. This role contributes to unit activities and supports enhancement of the care delivery system at the unit level. The Level II Registered Nurse supports peers in the delivery of patient care services and assumes an expanded role which may include charge nurse, preceptor, and committee member responsibilities.

We are looking for an individual to become part of a nursing team dedicated to the care of children with general surgical/renal/GI clinical issues. Care of the pediatric patient/family is a challenging, fast-paced environment and requires strong organizational, time management, and critical thinking skills. The nurse will develop diverse competencies and function as an important member of the pediatric interdisciplinary team. Must be committed to customer-focused, family-centered care, focusing on general surgical/renal/GI clinical issues and their unique psycho-social needs. Pediatric and/or acute care experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide competent direct patient care based on established standards.
• Contribute to unit activities and support enhancement of the care delivery system.
• Support peers in the delivery of patient care services.
• Assume expanded responsibilities such as charge nurse, preceptor, and committee member.
• Develop diverse competencies as part of the pediatric interdisciplinary team.

Requirements

• Active New York State RN license in good standing.
• Diploma, Associate, or Bachelor's degree from an accredited Nursing Program.
• Minimum of 6-12 months of RN experience for Level II applicants.
• Ability to assume the charge nurse role and actively participate in unit/service activities.
• Strong organizational, time management, and critical thinking skills.

Pay

The compensation range for this job is $37.93 - $49.31 per hour. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within this range, considering factors such as market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise, and internal equity.

Schedule

Full-time positions available with rotating shifts (D/E/N), including 8- and 12-hour shifts, weekends, and holidays per unit policy.
