Sales & Customer Experience
The Assistant Store Manager leads service behaviors to produce sales gains and supports Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). They model selling and ensure accurate, timely resolution of customer needs. They maintain visuals including proper merchandising, signage, cleanliness, and store readiness.
Coaching & Performance
The Assistant Store Manager delivers documented feedback on sales performance, recognizing strengths and coaching opportunities. They set expectations aligned with Company objectives and follow up for results. They model professionalism including adherence to the Company Dress Code Policy.
Operations & Expense Control
The Assistant Store Manager protects Company assets by following Lids policies and best practices. They assist with scheduling to provide coverage within wage guidelines. They manage inventory processes including receiving, transfers, price changes, and counts with accurate documentation. They open and close the store per the Operations P&P Manual and maintain records consistent with policy and law. They support and adhere to all Lids policies, procedures, and guidelines.
Job Required Knowledge & Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent plus one year of relevant experience
- Proven ability to drive retail sales while minimizing loss
- Clear, professional verbal communication and strong interpersonal skills
- Computer proficiency and ability to learn retail software and POS systems
- Ability to work independently with sound judgment
Physical and Travel Requirements
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to occasionally climb a ladder and work with hands overhead
- Ability to constantly stand on shift
- Ability to frequently walk on shift
- Ability to frequently hear and communicate verbally with customers, employees, and other personnel
- Ability to frequently visually observe the store and read written or digital information
- Ability to frequently operate a computer and mobile Point-of-Sales system, as well as maneuver relative software programs
