About the role
Lids Sports Group is a leading licensed sports retailer in North America, operating over 1,300 stores. Our Assistant Store Managers play a crucial role in fostering the passion for sports and fashion by ensuring customer satisfaction and store performance.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
Act as Manager on Duty for employee scheduling issues, customer complaints, etc. when the Store Manager is not present.
Manage store associates through LIDS Training Programs, goal setting, and regular follow-up when the Store Manager is not present.
Administer disciplinary measures, engage team members, and establish supportive relationships.
Responsible for scheduling and staffing the store, including calling in associates for unexpected peaks.
Participate in LIDS Training Programs, adhere to goals, and provide regular follow-up.
Aid in recruiting and training store personnel on proper operations and procedures.
Encourage compliance with company policies, procedures, and guidelines, including inventory management and safekeeping of company assets.
Execute operations-focused directives, promotions, and initiatives from Lids HQ.
Maintain a safe work environment, manage store technology and equipment, and ensure store facilities are maintained.
Effectively manage cash transactions, prepare for inventory audits, and support in confirming inventory accuracy.
Open and close the store according to procedures outlined in the Operations P&P Manual.
Protect company assets and manage store inventory, including receiving, transferring, completing price changes, and conducting product counts.
Strategically organize the backroom to maximize efficiency and execute optimal layout and visual merchandising strategies.
Maintain the store's look and feel through day-to-day visual merchandising and store actions, such as ensuring product recovery, restocking, destocking, or minor VM changes.
Execute special pricing signage and promotional presentations during operating hours to align with overall product sell-through strategy.
Job Required Knowledge & Skills
Established ability to produce sales results while minimizing loss.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate verbally in a clear professional manner.
Ability to work unsupervised.
