5th Grade Science/Social Studies Teacher (26-27)

About the role

A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree teacher certified in Middle School Science or Social Studies is sought. Two or more years of experience teaching middle school students in a school setting is preferred. Special Education certification is advantageous. Knowledge of End of Course (EOC) tests, ACT/SAT preparation, and Louisiana State Standards is preferred. Certification or pursuit of certification in multiple areas is a plus. The ideal candidate should show interest and capability in supporting one or more extracurricular clubs or sports outside of regular school hours.

Responsibilities

• Teach Middle School Science or Social Studies
• Support students in academic and personal growth
• Collaborate with other teachers and staff to enhance educational programs
• Participate in professional development opportunities
• Support extracurricular activities as needed

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Middle School Science or Social Studies
• Valid teaching certificate in Middle School Science or Social Studies
• Two or more years of experience teaching middle school students
• Special Education certification is advantageous
