5C Medical Teaching Unit - Registered Nurse (RN) - Part time - Night Shift

About the role

Christiana Care Health System is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the Night Shift team at Christiana Hospital's 5C Medical Teaching Unit. The position requires 20 hours per week and includes weekend and holiday shifts. The role involves working with a multidisciplinary team including Medical nursing staff, Hospitalists, and specialized consultants.

Responsibilities

• Assessing a patient’s physical and emotional status, past health history, health practices, and understanding the patient’s and family’s knowledge of their disease process and treatment.
• Engaging in a relationship-based care model, building relationships with patients and families, and with peers, guided by the hospital’s values of love and excellence.
• Planning and executing nursing care to promote patient wellness and comfort, being involved in all aspects of care, managing a team of 5 medical/surgical patients per shift, and working within the multidisciplinary medical team to achieve realistic healthcare goals and educational needs for an individual and their family.
• Closely monitoring patients, managing emergencies, and providing ongoing supportive care. Transitioning patients to the appropriate level of care after treatment and medical goal attainment.

General Requirements

• BSN required.
• ADNs are considered with relevant experience and a commitment to obtaining BSN within three years of date of hire.
• One year experience in acute care or subacute care preferred.
• BLS required.

Pay Range

The hourly pay range for this position is $41.28 - $66.05. The actual salary offered will depend on individual factors including skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
