Location: Riverside, CA • Pay: $51/hour • Type: Full-time; Contract

About the role

HB Staffing is seeking a Plan Check Engineer to join a growing and dynamic team. Perform professional engineering review of residential, commercial, industrial, and multifamily building plans and structural calculations to ensure compliance with applicable building, residential, accessibility, energy, green building, and local codes.

Responsibilities

• Review complex structural systems and alternative designs
• Provide technical guidance to plans examiners, inspectors, design professionals, and the public
• Coordinate plan reviews with other City departments
• Resolve code interpretation issues
• Support permit issuance and code enforcement activities

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master's degree desirable)
• Registration as a California Professional Civil Engineer (Structural Engineer license preferred)
• Experience performing structural design and building plan review
• Thorough knowledge of California Building Standards Codes and engineering principles
• Ability to analyze complex structural systems, interpret codes, communicate technical requirements effectively, and provide excellent customer service
