50% Gifted & Talented Teacher
About the role
We are seeking a dynamic Gifted & Talented (GT) teacher to join our team. The successful candidate will work with K-8 classroom teachers to meet the needs of and provide high-quality instruction to all learners, including gifted & talented/high performing students.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Be knowledgeable about extended learning opportunities and the whole child approach
- Cultivate meaningful relationships with students and staff
- Participate in ongoing professional development related to extended learning strategies and relevant content-based practices
- Develop lesson plans and instructional materials necessary to provide individualized and small group instruction
- Develop knowledge of the Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) framework and work in collaboration with staff to provide tiered support to students
- Support classroom teachers with universal instruction as indicated
- Perform all other duties as assigned in the spirit of collaboration
Qualifications
- Hold (or eligible to hold) Maine 690 certification
- Hold current Criminal History Record Check (CHRC) certification
- Minimum of three years’ classroom teaching experience
- Experience teaching gifted and high-performing students preferred
- Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills
- A passion for working with K-8 learners and supporting their growth
