5.5 Hour Instructional Assistant
Job Description
This 5.5 hour position assists teaching staff in a school setting by implementing teacher-designed instructional tasks, record keeping, student supervision, and other related duties as assigned. The position requires fostering a supportive learning environment for all students and ensuring they have the opportunity to succeed.
Qualifications
- Meet ESSA requirements: two years (72+ quarter credits) college credit or successful completion of Work Keys test prior to hiring.
- Experience working with elementary-aged students preferred.
- Physical characteristics needed: ability to communicate with co-workers, students, and the public; ability to communicate over the telephone; ability to hear (must respond to telephone, bells, students, co-workers, etc.); ability to see (must respond to classroom disturbances, visual cues, student requests, etc.); ability to operate office equipment; ability to carry or lift light loads (25 lbs) and occasionally climb a ladder.
- Prioritization may be given to those who are bilingual in Spanish and English.

Benefits
Salary and benefits to be established in accordance with the negotiated Classified salary schedule.
Pay
$19.55 - $24.77, depending on experience.
Schedule
This position is for 183 days per school year, beginning August 27, 2026. Hours are Monday through Friday, 7:15 am to 2:45 pm.
