4708 - Craft QC Lead
About the role
The Craft QC Lead position at Overland Contracting Inc. oversees multiple crews in the inspection of solar photovoltaic systems. Key responsibilities include managing QC Inspectors, ensuring safety protocols are followed, and participating in safety committees.
Responsibilities
- Use appropriate tools to inspect PV systems, electrical, mechanical, and civil components.
- Plan and coordinate efforts of QC Inspectors, motivating them to perform tasks safely and efficiently.
- Train QC Inspectors and other crafts on proper installation practices.
- Implement and participate in EIP and Safety committees.
- Lead daily safety talks and ensure daily safety planning is completed.
- Engage with work teams to achieve zero injuries and monitor for heat-related injuries.
- Monitor and track crew goals, and address any issues to keep crews on track.
- Review and approve crew timecards and ensure quality documentation is accurate.
- Assist in incident investigations and lead the investigation process.
- Communicate effectively with clients and represent Quality in meetings.
Qualifications
- At least 4 years of combination of journeyman and QC experience, with at least 1 year of QC experience.
- Prior supervisor experience required.
- Previous electrical experience preferred.
- One or more of the following certifications: NCCER Solar Photovoltaic Installer, NCCER Electrician, NCCER Concrete Finishing, NCCER Carpenter, NCCER Ironworker, NCCER Fundamentals of Crew Leadership, NCCER Project Supervision, NCCER Project Management.
- Must have leadership abilities and organizational skills.
- Must have all necessary tools (see Craft QC Tool List).
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
Skills
- Proficient in scheduling, material control, and construction installation and inspection tracking.
- Ability to communicate effectively with client representatives and represent Quality in meetings.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of drawings, specifications, and manuals.
- Understanding of safety rules and regulations.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions and environments.

Pay
Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
Schedule
This is a full-time position with occasional overtime as needed.
