About the Organization

GiB has been supporting people with disabilities in Lower Saxony for over 30 years. At locations in Hannover, Giesen, and Celle, around 430 employees support children, adolescents, and adults with various disabilities and/or autism. The goal is to enable people to live as independently and self-determinedly as possible and to participate fully in society. Services include daycare centers, counseling centers, educational and day support facilities, and residential homes for people with disabilities.

Role Context

People with disabilities want to live self-determined and independently—with everything that entails. They want to furnish their homes according to their own ideas, experience community but also have time alone, pursue work or activities, and enjoy leisure activities like cinema, concerts, or stadium visits. All of this and more is offered in the residential groups for people on the autism spectrum in Hannover-Badenstedt.

Responsibilities

• Team collaboration as a support worker
• Support in accompanying and caring for people with disabilities according to individual care plans based on the job description and the residential group's concept for people on the autism spectrum

Requirements

• Practical experience in supporting and caring for people on the autism spectrum or comparable professional experience
• Empathetic approach to people with disabilities
• Independent and responsible working style
• Teamwork skills
• Clean extended background check (erweitertes Führungszeugnis)
