About the role
We are seeking a dedicated 3rd Shift Supervisor to oversee daily shift operations in our fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Follow the Company's Safety Programs and Policies
- Ensures compliance with safety, federal, state, local, industry, contractual, and company regulations, standards, specifications, and best practices.
- Maintains a clean, safe, and orderly work areas.
- Communicates and collaborates with the team to keep the tasks aligned with goals and to optimize production processes.
- Responsible for reaching shift target goals for the department, evaluating performance, and conducting documented performance management and development conversations with all direct reports.
- Works with the plant manager in process improvements, maintains and updates equipment and machinery, works with the machine shop team on goals, plans, and directs all equipment improvements of the Company.
- Experience and knowledge with mechanical systems and industrial electrical installation.
- Troubleshooting and maintenance, including familiarity with high voltage equipment, power distribution, motors, and controls, as well as PLC Logic & troubleshooting skills.
- Possess skills in using a wide variety of hand/power tools.
- Familiarity with how to use and read meters.
- Inspects, operates, or tests machinery or equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions by using fault codes or safeties.
- Capable of disassembling, fixing mechanical and electrical components, and then reassembling putting machine back into production successfully.
- Proficiency in setup and operation of machines according to prints and work instructions.
- Measures finished parts utilizing precision tools to ensure compliance with function, quality, and cosmetic specifications.
- Performs quality control throughout work assignments to maintain the standards expected.
- Maintain necessary records and complete process documentation and any production records, as required.
- Performs minor maintenance on machines and assists maintenance personnel as required during repairs.
- When the workload is light, assist other areas.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- 5-7 years of work experience required.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a team.
- Experience with envelope operations and maintenance.
- Basic math skills to calculate quantities and measurements.
- Strong mechanical knowledge and understanding of envelope machining processes.
- Electrical and Machining background in manufacturing preferred.
- Strong leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and guide team members.
- Bilingual English / Spanish preferred.
