3rd Shift Structural Fabricator

About the role

The Fabricator operates fabricating machines to create structural steel products used in industrial automation. Responsibilities include operating fabrication shop and machine shop machinery and equipment, such as cutoff saws, shears, rolls, brakes, presses, forming machines, spinning machines, and punches, to cut, shape, and bend metal plates, sheets, tubes, and structures. Reading job specifications and blueprints to determine machine adjustments and material requirements, setting stops or guides to specified length as indicated by scale, rule, or template, positioning workpiece against stops or aligning layout marks with die or blade, measuring workpiece dimensions to determine accuracy of machine operation, detecting workpiece defects and machine malfunctions, removing burrs, sharp edges, rust, and scale from workpiece, performing minor machine maintenance such as oiling machines, die, or workpieces.

Responsibilities

• Operating fabrication shop and machine shop machinery and equipment
• Setting stops or guides to specified length as indicated by scale, rule, or template
• Positioning workpiece against stops or aligning layout marks with die or blade
• Detecting workpiece defects and machine malfunctions
• Removing burrs, sharp edges, rust, and scale from workpiece
• Performing minor machine maintenance such as oiling machines, die, or workpieces

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
• Minimum 1 year of related experience preferred
• LOTO certification required
• Crane operation certification required
• Forklift operation experience preferred but not required
• Availability to work on Saturdays as needed

Qualifications

• Ability to read blueprints
• Knowledge of standard and metric measurements
• Knowledge of quality assurance and self-inspection techniques
• Self-motivated and detail-oriented
• Team orientation

Skills

• LOTO certification required
• Cran operation certification required
• Forklift operation experience preferred but not required
