3rd Shift Shipping & Receiving Supervisor

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintains overall responsibility and accountability for functions within the shipping and receiving (S/R) department.
  • Implements all company rules and regulations as per current Employee Handbook.
  • Maintains active participation in the Daily Staff Meetings.
  • Obeys all Safety Rules.
  • Counsels and disciplines S/R employees as needed.
  • Trains all shipping and receiving personnel on policies, procedures.
  • Manages inventory of Loose Pack, Materials and Finished goods, including all physical inventory counts and inventory consolidation.
  • Works closely with Production and the Supply Chain Manager to assure production needs are met.
  • Manages the inter-departmental transport of materials.
  • Responsible for shipping of goods related to Food Bank, Rejects and Returns.
  • Performs performance reviews and goals setting of S/R employees.
  • Conducts accident and incident investigations.
  • Completes assigned tasks listed in Corrective Action Plans.
  • Understands Lean Manufacturing tools including 5 why’s, Brainstorming, Fishbone, Graphs and Root Cause Analysis.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervise 1st shift fork truck drivers.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • General: Excellent attention to detail, works well with little supervision, works well in a team environment, maintains a high level of business courtesy and etiquette when interacting with Customers, Vendors, and Sales representatives, demonstrated time management and multitasking skills, willingness to work additional hours as necessary, bilingual in Spanish not required but desired, authorized to work in the U.S., must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Education/Experience: 2 years Customer Service experience, 2 years WMS / ERP experience, some college desirable.
  • Computer Skills: Ability to use various PC software in Windows environment, knowledge of typing and 10-key calculator, basic knowledge of the internet.
  • Math/Language/Reasoning Abilities: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to solve problems independently, ability to make decisions quickly and accurately.
  • Certificates and Licenses: Train-the-trainer Forklift Certification.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Internal, climate-controlled traditional office environment; work requires periods of sitting, frequent walking, frequent computer use, frequent use of telephone including voicemail, and frequent use of general office equipment. Occasional lifting required when locating stock in the warehouse.
