3rd Shift Shipping Supervisor

Responsibilities

  • Covers the oversight of the Shipping Department including plan, coordinate, and supervise activities to ensure timely product shipment.
  • Determines proper packing and crating of goods to be shipped.
  • Provides accurate bills of lading and keeps records of goods shipped.
  • Schedules and expedites appropriate transportation to comply with shipping deadlines.
  • Works with Dispatcher to monitor and pursue lowest possible freight rates.
  • Maintains the integrity of the location systems.
  • Organizes and maintains staging areas for maximum safety and efficiency.
  • Performs supervisory duties including interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Develops and maintains cooperative working relationships with transportation and other applicable suppliers & customers.
  • Cooperates with all departments to assure a coordinated work relationship exists at all times.
  • Responsible for inventory usage and all other department costs.
  • Keeps accurate and up-to-date records (I.E., timecards, downtime records, absentee records, etc.).
  • Enforces company policies in a fair and consistent manner.
  • Maintains customer load dates by ensuring all scheduled products are made on-time, accurate, and 100% complete.

Qualifications

  • Associates degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Management, or another related field, or 7 years related experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ manufacturing and 2 years of leadership experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret regulations and policies in accordance with Company guidelines.
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing. English / Spanish Bilingual skills preferred.
  • Ability to develop and maintain cooperative working relationships with other departments and customers.
  • Ability to work flexible hours depending upon the needs of the department.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge Microsoft Excel, Word, and basic knowledge of PowerPoint.

Pay

Pay Range: $69,000 - $85,000 depending on relevant experience and qualifications.

Schedule

Work schedule: 7:00pm – 5:30am Monday through Thursday. Must be flexible to work Friday as needed to support the needs of the business.
