Position Summary
The Sanitation Lead is responsible for overseeing procedures, practices, and processes to maintain the facility in a sanitary condition that significantly minimizes or prevents hazards such as environmental pathogens, biological hazards from employee handling, and food allergen hazards. This role aims to create a sanitary facility in compliance with regulatory standards, driving the achievement of Jackson's SQF and HACCP plans.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Responsible for maintaining facility cleanliness and ensuring appropriate documentation to meet regulatory standards.
- Create and coordinate a sanitation plan in accordance with Jackson’s food safety programs.
- Collaborate with production operations and maintenance to coordinate the sanitation plan.
- Manage chemical inventory, associated PPE, and utensils required for sanitation operations.
- Demonstrate comprehension of production processes and their application as needed.
- Supervise and execute sanitation processes, ensuring completion of daily, weekly, and monthly protocols and schedules.
- Investigate opportunities to continuously improve sanitation protocols and procedures for efficiency and effectiveness.
- Work with contractors and suppliers related to chemical or sanitation-specific needs.
- Provide leadership to the sanitation team, offering expertise in sanitation methods.
- Ensure smooth transitions and shift setups for success, including providing shift flexibility.
- Actively participate in train-the-trainer sessions to strengthen internal training capabilities and drive consistency across teams.
Qualifications
- Excellent physical dexterity and the ability to repeat the same movements repeatedly.
- Ability to work with a team and be a team player.
- Experience working with hazardous materials or willingness to learn.
- Knowledge of waste disposal method.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- One to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience in sanitation/waste disposal.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
- Comprehend Jackson's SQF food safety policy and recognize its relevance to their role.
