3rd Shift Rewind Inspector

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Wind from multiple reels to single reel as necessary for cabling or other operations
• Visually checks all wire and cable during rewinding operations to detect rough finish areas, obvious diameter variations and other disqualifying elements
• Takes approved action to report, repair, remove faulty areas depending upon type and use requirements of wire or cable being rewound
• Performs simple electrical test functions to check cables and other items for continuity and "dead" shorts
• Runs routine spark and similar tests following established practices and/or specific instructions
• Performs minor cable repairs, trim braid, repair jackets and perform other routine repair operations as necessary
• Checks wall thickness, conductor and other diameters using micrometers and other measuring devices
• Covers wires and cable as directed

Qualifications/Requirements

• Must be 18 years or older
