2nd Shift Rewind Inspector

Location: Wallingford, CT • 3rd Shift • Hourly

Pay

$23.99 – $25.84 per hour

Responsibilities

• Wind wire or cable from multiple reels onto a single reel as needed for cabling or other operations.
• Visually inspect all wire and cable during rewinding to detect rough finish areas, diameter variations, or other disqualifying defects.
• Take approved action to report, repair, or remove faulty sections based on type and use requirements of the wire or cable.
• Perform simple electrical tests to check cables for continuity and dead shorts.
• Conduct routine spark and similar tests following established practices or specific instructions.
• Perform minor cable repairs, including trimming braid, repairing jackets, and other routine repair operations.
• Measure wall thickness, conductor diameters, and other dimensions using micrometers and other measuring devices.
• Coat wires and cables as directed.
