About the role

The Production Supervisor oversees a team of up to 120 employees, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, delivery, and cost standards. They are responsible for interviewing, hiring, and training employees, as well as managing their performance.

Responsibilities

  • Directs the activities of up to 120 employees
  • Evaluates and rewards employee performance
  • Addresses employee complaints and resolves issues
  • Safeguards employees, processes, equipment, and workspaces
  • Maintains quality standards and adheres to ISO 14001 and TS16949 standards
  • Trains and cross-trains employees
  • Manages employee attendance and time-off requests
  • Keeps abreast of production processes and equipment
  • Reports and resolves production and equipment issues
  • Facilitates problem-solving teams
  • Organizes work schedules and resources
  • Implements improvements in production methods, equipment, and quality
  • Maintains visual controls in production areas
  • Ensures proper identification, handling, and storage of products and materials

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • At least three years of experience in leadership or supervision in a manufacturing or production environment
  • Supervisory experience, higher education/training, or equivalent combination of experience and education
  • Understanding of lean manufacturing concepts

Qualifications

  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to speak effectively in oral and written communication, including telephone conversations
  • Proficiency in using PC computers and software applications such as word processing, spreadsheets, and databases
  • Ability to navigate and perform duties in enterprise ERP and timekeeping systems
  • Basic mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, rates, ratios, and percentages
  • Ability to solve practical problems and follow instructions
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, sometimes noisy environment
