About the role
CPI has an immediate need for a Production Associate - Paint in its Georgetown, Texas location for its Third Shift.
Responsibilities
- Loads and unloads materials, parts, or products manually or by mechanized means.
- Affords assistance to the production operators.
- Moves and transports raw materials and finished product.
- Assists operators with loading machines and positioning the work.
- Hangs fabricated parts on the conveyor paint line to engineering specifications.
- Prepares parts for painting.
- Removes parts from the line once painted.
- Removes any debris from parts prior to hanging.
- Determines best practice hanging methods to maximize paint quality and load density.
- Inspects hooks for burn off lifecycles.
- Inspects and maintains equipment for compliance with safety requirements, including but not limited to all guarding.
- Corrects any safety issues prior to operating the equipment.
- Inspects coated items for paint coverage and tests for coating thickness.
- Performs some washer preventive maintenance tasks.
- Cleans and maintains work area and equipment.
- Affords assistance and trains others to hang parts on the paint line.

- Technical Competencies: A minimum of one (1) year of related experience strongly preferred. Ability to read and understand blueprints and engineering specifications to properly select parts. Capable of using measuring devices as required for product inspection. Good mechanical skills including the use of hand tools. Good troubleshooting skills such that, after a reasonable training period, the employee will be able to evaluate operational problems of the equipment and know the proper corrective actions. Ability to read and understand equipment operating, maintenance, and troubleshooting manuals.
- Physical/Environmental Requirements: Frequent standing, walking, carrying, lifting, stooping, and crouching. Work with fabricated metal parts, powder coated materials and cleaning chemicals. Lift up to 50 lbs.
