Responsibilities
- Understand specifications by reading blueprints and mechanical drawings.
- Configure machines by loading raw materials, installing tools, and adjusting parameters (speed, feed, tool settings) based on job specifications.
- Prepare test runs to verify machine outputs meet specifications.
- Continuously inspect parts for compliance using measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, precision tools).
- Prepare and operate manual lathes.
- Maintain accurate records of machine settings, parts produced, and adjustments made during production.
- Demonstrate enthusiasm for learning new skills and techniques.
- Maintain cleanliness in the work area and prioritize safety.
Requirements
- Proficient knowledge of common manual lathe techniques.
- Skilled in reading technical drawings and blueprints.
- Understanding and application of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
- High School Diploma or GED (preferred).
- Analytical and numerical skills; ability to perform mathematical calculations, including decimals and fractions.
- Experience using basic measuring tools (tape measure, calipers, etc.).
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment.
