3rd Shift Manual Lathe Operator

Responsibilities

• Understand specifications by reading blueprints and mechanical drawings.
• Configure machines by loading raw materials, installing tools, and adjusting parameters (speed, feed, tool settings) based on job specifications.
• Prepare test runs to verify machine outputs meet specifications.
• Continuously inspect parts for compliance using measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, precision tools).
• Prepare and operate manual lathes.
• Maintain accurate records of machine settings, parts produced, and adjustments made during production.
• Demonstrate enthusiasm for learning new skills and techniques.
• Maintain cleanliness in the work area and prioritize safety.

Requirements

• Proficient knowledge of common manual lathe techniques.
• Skilled in reading technical drawings and blueprints.
• Understanding and application of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
• High School Diploma or GED (preferred).
• Analytical and numerical skills; ability to perform mathematical calculations, including decimals and fractions.
• Experience using basic measuring tools (tape measure, calipers, etc.).
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment.
