About the role
Villari Foods is seeking a Maintenance Technician for their Villari Foods location. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of one year's experience as a technician and enjoy the challenge of repairing and rebuilding machinery.
Responsibilities
- Ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements on equipment, motors, pneumatic tools, converter systems, and production machines.
- Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listen for problems; use precision measuring and testing instruments; troubleshoot malfunctions.
- Control downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques; monitor compliance.
- Fabricate repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.
- Maintain equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory levels; anticipate needed equipment, parts, and supplies; place and expedite orders; verify receipt.
- Conserve maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
- Provide mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum one-year experience as a technician
Qualifications
- Licensed mechanic (preferred but not required)
- Experience in the Food Industry (preferred but not required)
Skills
- Knowledge of mechanical devices and systems
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair machinery
- Proficiency in using precision measuring and testing instruments
- Experience in fabricating repair parts

Physical requirements and work environment
The work environment will include cold temperatures between 50℉ to 10℉ (non-weather related), working near moving mechanical parts, exposure to fumes or airborne particles, and chemicals. Villari does provide cold-weather gear!
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but can be loud. Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, occasionally up to 100 pounds. Able to stand, use hands and/or fingers to grasp, handle, feel, reach and pull. Occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
