3rd Shift Maintenance Supervisor

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Schedule, assign, and direct work
• Appraise performance
• Review production and operating reports
• Ensure timely addressing of operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems
• Set overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of maintenance employees
• Directly supervise non-supervisory (lead/technician) employees
• Handle multiple projects and assignments
• Train, develop, and evaluate employees
• Ensure quality of all products being produced and packaged
• Manage plant maintenance employees and activities
• Motivate and maintain safety of employees under supervision
• Coach and develop a strong team of maintenance technicians
• Meet volume goals, reduce claims, maximize yields, and reduce cost
• Identify and resolve recurring equipment problems
• Set up Preventive Maintenance activities
• Prepare operational paperwork
• Maintain good working relationships with the USDA

Competencies And Skills

• Good communication skills, verbal and written
• Strong mechanical skills
• Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
• Experience with pumps, valves, pneumatic and hydraulic systems
• Good understanding of Lockout/tagout
• Perform preventive maintenance on equipment
• Knowledge of Process and Packaging Equipment

Education And Experience

• 3+ years of verifiable experience in supervising food manufacturing equipment maintenance
• Ammonia Refrigeration Experience/Certification highly desired
• Experience working in a USDA environment is a plus
• Any certifications or equivalent technical training are a plus
• The ability to perform in a fast-paced environment
• Computer-literate and able to use associated software programs

Physical Demands

• Ability to perform duties both outside and inside in varying conditions
• Exposure to loud noise of plant machinery
• Exposure to extreme temperatures, wet, humid conditions, and inclement weather
• Exposure to oils and airborne particles
• May be required to work near moving mechanical parts
