Hourly position on 3rd shift.

About the role

As a Maintenance Generalist, you will troubleshoot, maintain, and repair all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. This role involves working in varying temperatures, humidity, and dusty conditions, with physical demands including standing, walking, bending, stretching, climbing, pushing, pulling, stooping, and lifting 50–70 lbs. or more.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical malfunctions and respond to breakdowns or emergency situations.
  • Prepare written documentation of actions taken to correct equipment problems.
  • Lubricate equipment with various greases and oils.
  • Perform preventive maintenance according to schedule and complete appropriate paperwork and reports.
  • Comply with lockout/tagout, confined space, and all other safety programs.
  • Perform mechanical and basic electrical troubleshooting and repairs without supervision.
  • Start all equipment before production startup and shutdown without supervision.
  • Assist other mechanics as needed and perform janitorial services if required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Wear required PPE, including ear protection, hair net, and beard guard.
  • Obtain Tyson operator’s license for pallet jack or forklift if necessary.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of maintenance experience or graduation from an Industrial Maintenance Training program (or a combination of experience and education to meet the 2-year requirement).
  • Ability to perform diagnosis and repairs without supervision.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organization skills.
  • Ability to understand technical mechanical concepts.
  • Willingness to work in damp, cold, or hot environments, reach above shoulder level, and stand for 8–10 hours a day.
  • Must comply with biosecurity requirements, including showering/changing clothing before entering the facility, avoiding avian species, and adhering to Tyson’s Biosecurity and Animal Welfare Guidelines.
  • Must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
